[PEP Edition] Junior High School Mathematics, Grade 7, Volume 1
This textbook is the introductory mathematics textbook for the first semester of Grade 7. It mainly covers four core sections: rational numbers, addition and subtraction of polynomials, linear equations in one variable, and introductory geometry. By introducing abstract concepts such as negative numbers, the number line, and algebraic expressions, it helps students transition from arithmetic thinking to algebraic thinking, laying the foundation for junior high school mathematics.
Course Overview
Content Summary
This textbook is the introductory mathematics textbook for the first year of junior high school, primarily covering four core sections: rational numbers, addition and subtraction of integral expressions, linear equations in one variable, and introductory geometry. By introducing abstract concepts such as negative numbers, the number line, and algebraic expressions, it helps students transition from arithmetic thinking to algebraic thinking, laying the foundation for junior high school mathematics.

Learning Objectives
- Master the calculation and properties of absolute value: Be able to accurately find the absolute value of any rational number and understand the geometric meaning of absolute value (distance).
- Skillfully compare the magnitude of rational numbers: Master the use of the number line and absolute value to compare the magnitude relationships among positive numbers, negative numbers, and zero.
- Be proficient in addition of rational numbers: Be able to accurately perform addition operations according to sign rules, and flexibly apply operation laws to improve calculation efficiency.
- Accurately distinguish concepts: Be able to identify monomials (coefficient, degree) and polynomials (terms, degree), and understand the meaning of integral expressions.
- Be proficient in operation rules: Skillfully apply the rules for combining like terms and removing parentheses, and correctly perform addition and subtraction of integral expressions.
- Strengthen applied modeling: Be able to transform practical problems (such as geometry, travel, and data patterns) into algebraic expressions, and simplify and evaluate them.
- Master core skills: Understand and skillfully apply the two properties of equations, and solve linear equations in one variable according to standard steps.
- Establish modeling thinking: Be able to identify equality relationships in practical problems and master the problem-solving process of "set up, formulate, solve, check, and answer."
- Solve complex scenarios: Overcome problems involving profit and loss calculations in sales, logical analysis of points tables, and selection of optimal phone billing plans.
- Be able to identify points, lines, surfaces, and solids and their mutual transformation relationships, and understand the correspondence between three-dimensional figures and their nets.
